Dr. William Silvert has a Ph. D. in Physics from Brown University (USA). He has been working in the marine sciences since 1975, first at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and from 1978 to 2000 at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography in Nova Scotia. He is a Senior Research Fellow at IPIMAR and an Associate of the Marine Sciences Centre at the University of the Algarve in Portugal..
